La Chica Mexican Grill Kota Kinabalu

It was my first time trying out Lachica in Imago branch & everything is superb. 5 star cleanliness (most important), very TLC of customer's request esp Ms Hana's hospitality is excellent. Food is awesome (they take note of my food allergies). The restaurant opens at 11.30am yet the chef is very kind & asks to wait for the team to finish briefing only can take new orders. Will definitely return here #lachicaexperience

Absolutely amazing experience at La Chica Mexican Grill Kota Kinabalu! The food, service, and atmosphere were all perfect. We were served by a very lovely lady — I believe her name is Ms. Ruby, possibly the manager, and she made our evening extra special with her warm hospitality and great recommendations. We tried the Garlic Prawns, Chicken & Mushroom Quesadillas, and Habanero Lamb , every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For drinks, we had Piña Agria and Mojito de Flor de Sauco, both refreshing and well-balanced. Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

A brand new Mexican restaurant in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. Unrivalled at the time this review was written; the next best is still nowhere near. From the start of our gastronomic journey, we were greeted by friendly staff from the point of contact. Our server was great, accommodative, gave good food suggestions, and was kind. Five stars from the get go. We ordered lots of food. We had no clear direction, but we knew we were hungry and wanted to splurge. We got their myriad of tacos,mixed platter- both crispy and soft. The best for me were the shrimp and fish tacos. Perfect. Garlic shrimp- fresh, large prawns in garlic butter sauce. A bit too rich for me, but my wife loved it. Chicken quesadillas- cheesy and generous with their chicken filling. Loaded nachos -the best in KK; large portion and very cheesy. Passion fruit margarita jug- strong and a great thirst-quencher. The food was well seasoned, authentic, and flavourful. It suited our local taste buds. They were generous with the toppings and fillings. The margarita was strong and worth the price we paid. We also liked the concept of welcome drinks. If you spend RM200+, you get to spin a wheel, and we won free churros, which were fantastic. We also ordered their signature cream cheese cannoli, which was good too. All in all a good experience and recommended. Will definitely returns. Points to take; would prefer a better lit area for those who would like to also savour their food with their eyes. It was too dim for our liking only because the gorgeous foods could not be appreciated visually,

Overall: 5/5 Never been to Mexico b4, so I hv nothing to compare it w, so how authentic the dishes are I can’t say, but wat I can say is that it’s delicious. It’s gonna taste so much better when u use ur hands. Thy hv seats inside n outside but those inside are a little dark w purple lighting. Thy hv a band if u like dat kinda thing, mo 4d hippy youngsters. I ordered a variety n most of them i like, nothing to hate. If u love Mexican food u only 2 choices n dis plc is probably the best in town. The staff are alert, thy great u n are very helpful with explaining the menu. The menu cld b improved by adding fotos of the dish cos words alone doesn’t give u the whole picture. Thy hv a good no. Of ppl in the kitchen so u won’t hv to wait too long for ur food. Overall paid rm300+ for 4pax n v were filled to the brim. Was told the owners are from KL n it’s a chain of restaurants. Not a single Mexican cook, mostly Indians n local helpers

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Good Experience! The food was great and the band performed wonderfully throughout the night. Special compliment to Firdaus for his warm personality and great sense of humour — he truly made the evening more enjoyable! One small suggestion: the manager could be a bit more flexible with the lucky draw drink redemption. Tourists may not always be able to return the next day, so allowing the complimentary margarita to be redeemed on the same night would make the experience even better. Overall, an excellent evening with good food, good music, and great service!

Our 1st time but definitely won't be our last. Thanks to Ferdaus with his food choices, we enjoyed every bite of it - not too much but just nice! Also thanks to Ruby, we enjoyed our dessert as well. Great service from both of them & the other staff as well. Loved how all the staff there kept their smiles throughout. Sound System was great & the best was it was a smoke-free joint! Free from being 2nd hand smokers!

My wife and I came here on a weekday afternoon. Would say it was a great timing because there was no heavy crowd. We were served by very friendly and courteous waiters. Ordered the nachos and tacos. Nachos were in huge portion probably able to feed 3-4 people. We had the tacos set of 6 for RM99. Out of all the 6, the best tacos by far is the fish taco. The others were very good also but the fish did stand out amongst all due to the perfect combination of flavours and the freshness of the fish meat. Didn’t try their drinks but i’m sure would taste good as well. Overall both the missus and I had a great culinary experience dining here. Would probably come back next time when there’s a crowd to feel the ambience and have a drink or two. This place is worth the price

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The food was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Excellent service all around. The atmosphere here is absolutely fantastic. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by beautiful decor, colorful touches, and music that sets the perfect mood.
